Sweet relief

I finally broke down and bought new shoes, since the oxfords I bought were still too painful. Instant relief! I got two pairs: one pair of slip ons and one pair with laces to ensure no more foot problems. And here's a new tie.

Franz Kafka. Kafka started his day at his job at the Workers’ Accident Insurance Institute from 8:30 to 2:30. Afterward he would lunch until 3:30, then sleep until 7:30. Upon waking, he would do exercises and have dinner with his family. He began writing at 11:00 in the evening, usually working until 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning–sometimes later.

Delicious details! I would love a schedule like this (especially the long nap)!

Kafka was a writer for the company he worked for as well. He wrote speeches, manuals, and other technical documents. Last year a book of his office writings was published. It was so fascinating. I mean, not the most exciting stuff, but reading some of it, you could still sense his own voice.
